In what looks like a nifty combination of "Stranger Things" and "The X-Files," the German mystery thriller series "Dark" could end up being your next binge-watching session on Netflix.

Check out a new teaser trailer for the forthcoming ten-episode series, which takes place in a small German town where the strange disappearance of two young children has forever marred the lives of four German families. The show is set in present day, but will flashback to events in 1986, charting the town's troubled history.

Created by Swiss-born filmmaker Baran bo Odar and screenwriter Jantje Friese (they're the directing-and-writing team behind the 2014 German hacker thriller "Who Am I"), "Dark" is set to premiere Friday, December 1st on Netflix.

synopsis:
Dark, a family saga with a supernatural twist, is set in a German town in present day where the disappearance of two young children exposes the double lives and fractured relationships among four families. In ten, hour-long episodes, the story takes on a supernatural twist that ties back to the same town in 1986.
