Thor: Ragnarok — Behind-the-Scenes Featurette

Marvel Studios has released a new behind-the-scenes featurette for "Thor: Ragnarok," the eagerly-awaited superhero sequel that reunites the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) with The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

"In this film, we wanted to strip it back. And we wanted to have more fun with it," says Hemsworth. Though the notion of playing up Thor's more comedic qualities may have something to do with the sensibilities of the film's director, New Zealand comedian Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows).

Hemsworth adds, "And you know Taika had the exact same idea. We were both saying, in 'Thor: Ragnarok,' let's try to have more attitude."

And nothing says "more attitude" like the goddess of death. Oscar-winner Cate Blanchett plays Marvel's first cinematic female villain, Hela the Goddess of Death, who, after seizing control of Thor's celestial home, banishes him from Asgard to a faraway dimension.

Now without his mighty hammer and without his long locks, Thor finds himself at the lowest point in his life, serving as a slave gladiator for the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum). But when he unexpectedly reteams with his former "Avengers" teammate Bruce Banner, aka the Hulk (Ruffalo), Thor sets out on a mission to reclaim his kingdom with the help of his honorable warrior friend Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson) and his not-so-honorable brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston).

"Thor: Ragnarok" opens everywhere on November 3rd.

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor's quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
