Since winning an Academy Award for his co-starring performance in "Whiplash," J.K. Simmons has become one of the busiest actors in Hollywood. He's back at it again, this time playing a newly widowed teacher in the bittersweet father-son dramedy "The Bachelors," for which a trailer has just been released.

Up-and-coming actor Josh Wiggins (Mean Dreams, Max, Hellion) co-stars as Simmons' teenage son who, after moving cross-country following the death of his mother, starts attending a new prestigious school where he becomes romantically captivated with one of his classmates (played by Odeya Rush, from "Goosebumps" and "The Giver"). Meanwhile, Simmons' character finds himself forming a personal relationship with one of his colleagues, a French teacher (played by Julie Delpy, star of Richard Linklater's "Before" films).

Written and directed by Kurt Voelker (the screenwriter of the 2001 romantic drama "Sweet November"), and co-starring Kevin Dunn, "The Bachelors" will be released on October 20th.
