Downsizing — Extended TV Spot

added: Wed, Sep 27th '17

What would you do for the chance to live in a gorgeous mansion located inside a luxurious residential community that contains three cheesecake factories? Would you quit your job and get rid of most of your belongings? Sure, if it means a life of pure solitude. But what if it also means you would have to permanently shrink yourself down to five inches tall? Now the idea gets a "little" tricky.

After some cajoling from a miniaturized Jason Sudeikis, Matt Damon decides to go through the shrinking process in a new extended TV spot for "Downsizing," the science fiction-tinged dramedy set in a not-too-distant future where scientists have solved the world's overpopulation problem with the invention of shrinking humans down to the size of a cracker. And as a result, a program for miniaturized people to live in an exclusive retirement community (called "Leisureland") has been created to entice volunteers.

Acclaimed filmmaker Alexander Payne, of "The Descendants" and "Sideways," directed the movie from a screenplay he co-wrote with his Oscar-winning writing partner Jim Taylor.

The cast also includes Kristen Wiig, Christoph Waltz, and Hong Chau with appearances by Neil Patrick Harris, Laura Dern, Niecy Nash, Margo Martindale, and Rolf Lassgard.

"Downsizing" opens December 22nd.

When scientists discover how to shrink humans to five inches tall as a solution to over-population, Paul (Matt Damon) and his wife Audrey (Kristen Wiig) decide to abandon their stressed lives in order to get small and move to a new downsized community -- a choice that triggers life-changing adventures.
