"Baby Driver" star Ansel Elgort plays an amateur teen sleuth in the trailer for "November Criminals," a new murder-mystery thriller that also stars Chloe Grace Moretz.

After his best friend (Cory Hardrict) is mysteriously shot and killed at his place of work, high school senior Addison Schacht (Elgort) grows increasingly frustrated at the police's mishandling of the case. When they unjustly declared the murder as a gang-related crime, Addison takes it upon himself to snoop around for answers. His investigation eventually leads him down a dangerous path to the truth.

Based on Sam Munson's book of the same name, the movie is directed by filmmaker Sacha Gervasi, whose helming credits include the Anthony Hopkins-starring biopic "Hitchcock" and the acclaimed metal rock documentary "Anvil: The Story of Anvil."

Co-starring David Strathairn, Catherine Keener, Terry Kinney, and Victor Williams, "November Criminals" will be released digitally on November 7th before opening in select theaters on December 8th.

A teenager takes on his own investigation of a murder in Washington D.C.
