Better Watch Out — Red Band Trailer

Imagine, for a second, if "Home Alone" was about a twelve-year-old homicidal maniac who gets his kicks from torturing stupid home intruders. Well, that's basically the gist of this movie, a twisted take on both the Christmas comedy genre and the recent spate of home-invasion horrors.

In what seems to have all the makings of a cult Christmas horror hit, "Better Watch Out" stars Levi Miller (from "Pan" and the upcoming "A Wrinkle in Time") as a seemingly ordinary kid who suddenly acts out his homicidal impulses to protect his babysitter (Olivia DeJonge) and best friend (The Visit's Ed Oxenbould) from masked intruders.

Directed by indie horror filmmaker Chris Peckover (Undocumented), the darkly comedic thriller co-stars Aleks Mikic and Dacre Montgomery with Patrick Warburton and Virginia Madsen as the parents who are off enjoying a romantic Christmas dinner while the children are alone fending off a host of threats in their house.

"Better Watch Out" will be released in theaters and on VOD October 6th. In the meantime, you can check out the newly released red band trailer, above.

This holiday season, you may be home, but you're not alone... In this fresh and gleefully twisted spin on home-invasion horror, babysitter Ashley (Olivia DeJonge) must defend her young charges (Levi Miller, Ed Oxenbould ) when intruders break into the house one snowy night -- or so she thinks.
