Despite the fact that it's almost four decades since they last starred in a movie together, Robert Redford and Jane Fonda prove yet again that their on-screen chemistry is still undeniable, if not electric.

Check out the official trailer for "Our Souls at Night," a new Netflix drama that stars Redford and Fonda (in their long-awaited fourth on-screen pairing) as widowed next-door-neighbors who suddenly strike up an honest and soulful love affair after knowing each other for many years as friendly acquaintances.

Directed by acclaimed India-born filmmaker Ritesh Batra (The Lunchbox, The Sense of an Ending), the small-town romantic film is based on the 2015 best-seller of the same name, which was the final book by the late, Colorado author Kent Haruf.

"Our Souls at Night," which was adapted by screenwriting duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber (The Fault in Our Stars, The Spectacular Now, 500 Days of Summer), co-stars Matthias Schoenaerts, Judy Greer, Bruce Dern, and Phyllis Somerville.

The film recently premiered to positive reviews at the Venice Film Festival. It arrives on Netflix later this month beginning Friday, September 29th.

synopsis:
In Holt, a small Colorado town, Addie Moore (Jane Fonda) pays an unexpected visit to a neighbor, Louis Waters (Robert Redford). Her husband died years ago, as did his wife, and in such a small town they'd been neighbors for decades, but had little contact. Their children (Matthias Schoenaerts and Judy Greer) live far away and they are all alone in their big houses. Addie seeks to establish a connection, and make the most of the rest of the time they have.
