A kinky marriage game quickly turns into a frightening life-or-death situation in the newly released trailer for the forthcoming Netflix thriller, starring Carla Gugino (Wayward Pines, San Andreas) and Bruce Greenwood (The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story).

Based on the best-selling Stephen King novel, "Gerald's Game" casts Gugino as Jessie Burlingame, a sexually submissive woman who agrees to participate in one of her husband's kinky sex games. But when her husband, Gerald (Greenwood), suddenly dies from a heart attack, Jessie finds herself handcuffed to a bed and stuck inside a secluded lakeside cabin where neighbors are nowhere in sight. As she fights for her survival, Jessie digs deep into her subconscious mind to confront her darkest childhood fears and memories.

Prolific horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan, known for the supernatural thrillers "Ouija: Origin of Evil," "Oculus," and "Before I Wake," directs from an adapted script he co-wrote with screenwriting collaborator Jeff Howard.

"Gerald's Game" will start streaming on Netflix later this month, Friday, September 29th.
