Chilean filmmaker Sebastian Lelio won International acclaim for his middle-aged divorcee crowd-pleaser "Gloria."

Lelio has returned this year with another critical hit "A Fantastic Woman," which features a breakout performance by Chilean trans actress/singer Daniela Vega as a transgender waitress and a club singer who must confront her middle-aged boyfriend's family when he unexpectedly dies from an aneurism.

Earlier this year, the movie made a huge splash when premiering at the Berlin Film Festival, winning three awards that included the "Teddy" for Best Feature Film.

A likely Oscar contender for Best Foreign Film, "A Fantastic Woman" will be released in U.S. theaters in November, via Sony Pictures Classics.

The film is also set to screen this week at TIFF and then at the London Film Festival next month. Watch the newly released U.S. trailer, above.

A FANTASTIC WOMAN is the story of Marina, a waitress and singer, and Orlando, an older man, who are in love and planning for the future. After Orlando suddenly falls ill and dies, Marina is forced to confront his family and society, and to fight again to show them who she is: complex, strong, forthright, fantastic.
