An ailing Hollywood starlet falls profoundly in love with a young Englishman in the new international trailer for the forthcoming British drama "Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool," which stars four-time Oscar-nominee Annette Bening and Jamie Bell.

Directed by Scottish helmer Paul McGuigan (TV's Sherlock, Lucky Number Slevin, Victor Frankenstein), the film tells the tragic true story of Gloria Grahame, an Oscar-winning Hollywood actress (best known for her onscreen performances in such classic films as "The Bad and the Beautiful," "Oklahoma!," and "It's a Wonderful Life") who, in 1981, traveled to Liverpool, England to work on a stage play. Once there, Grahame, who was secretly dying from breast cancer, embarked on a whirlwind romance with a budding English stage actor named Peter Turner. Sadly, it would be the final year of her life.

In what looks to be an award-caliber performance, Annette Bening portrays the 57-year-old Gloria Grahame, while Jamie Bell takes on the role of the much younger Peter Turner.

Based on Turner's memoir, "Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool" co-stars Julie Walters, Stephen Graham, and Vanessa Redgrave.

The movie just premiered to strong reviews at Telluride and will screen later this week at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will officially open in the U.K. on November 17 with a U.S. release to follow.
