"Heroin(e)" is a 39-minute Netflix documentary that offers an unflinching look at the current opioid addiction crisis in America, which is only getting worse this year, particularly in parts of West Virginia.

Documentarian Elaine McMillion Sheldon explores the subject through the eyes of three courageous West Virginian women -- a fire chief, a judge, and a social worker --- who are fighting the deadly epidemic in what appears to be a long and large uphill battle.

"Heroin(e)" is set to premiere this weekend at the Telluride Film Festival. It will then stream on Netflix starting Tuesday, September 12th.
