A Depression-era Iowa preacher wages a war against capitalist oppressors in the first trailer for the new television series "Damnation," in which Killian Scott ('71) and Logan Marshall-Green (Prometheus, TV's Quarry) star as "two brothers on opposing sides" trying to survive in "a nation born in blood."

Created and written by "Longmire" writer Tony Tost, and executive produced by filmmaker James Mangold (Logan, 3:10 to Yuma) along with "Game of Thrones" co-executive producer Guymon Casady and film producer Daniel Rappaport (Office Christmas Party, Office Space), the 1930s-set series also stars Sarah Jones (Hulu's The Path), Christopher Heyerdahl (AMC's Hell on Wheels), Chasten Harmon (Paterson), and Melinda Page Hamilton (TV's Rectify).

David MacKenzie, the acclaimed director of the Oscar-nominated bank-robbery drama "Hell or High Water," directs the hour-long pilot episode. He's also on board as an executive producer.

"Damnation" is set to premiere in October on the USA network.

synopsis:
An epic saga about the secret history of the 1930's American heartland, Damnation centers on the mythic conflict and bloody struggle between big money and the downtrodden, God and greed, charlatans, and prophets. The pilot introduces Seth Davenport (Killian Scott), a man masquerading as a small town Iowa preacher in the hopes of starting a full-blown insurrection against the status quo. Focused on his mission, he is unaware that an industrialist tycoon has hired a professional strikebreaker named Creeley Turner (Logan Marshall-Green) to stop the uprising by any means necessary. But unbeknownst to those around them, these two men already share a secret bloody past.
