Check out the first trailer for "Brawl in Cell Block 99," a Grindhouse-esque crime thriller starring a bald Vince Vaughn as a former boxer-turned-auto mechanic whose blue-collar working life is upended by violence when he is sent to prison for smuggling guns.

Written and directed by indie filmmaker S. Craig Zahler, who previously made the cult western horror "Bone Tomahawk," "Brawl in Cell Block 99" also stars Jennifer Carpenter (from TV's "Dexter") and veteran actor Don Johnson (Django Unchained, Miami Vice).

The action movie is set to premiere next month at Austin's Fantastic Fest and is also scheduled to screen at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals.

"Brawl in Cell Block 99" will officially open in theaters on October 6th.

synopsis:
In BRAWL IN CELL BLOCK 99, a former boxer named Bradley (Vince Vaughn) loses his job as an auto mechanic, and his troubled marriage is about to end. At this crossroads in his life, he feels that he has no better option than to work for an old buddy as a drug courier. This improves his situation until the terrible day that he finds himself in a gunfight between a group of police officers and his own ruthless allies. When the smoke clears, Bradley is badly hurt and thrown in prison, where his enemies force him to commit acts of violence that turn the place into a savage battleground.
