Irish actor Domhnall Gleeson was excellent as the evil First Order commander General Hux in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." And he was truly unforgettable as the robot-loving programmer Caleb Smith in "Ex Machina." And while he's mostly known for his dramatic works, Gleeson is going to show off his comedic chops in the upcoming love-triangle comedy "Crash Pad," which also stars Christina Applegate and Thomas Haden Church.

In the newly-released trailer, we see Gleeson floundering through a series of awkward situations as a lovesick slacker named Stensland. He is head over heels in love with a married woman named Morgan (played by Applegate). Sadly, Stensland soon learns that she was only using him to get back at her cheating husband. And just as things couldn't get much cumbersome, Stensland finds himself becoming temporary roommates with Morgan's scorned ex (played by a gun-wielding Haden Church).

Executive produced by Oscar-winning filmmaker Alexander Payne (The Descendants, Sideways), and directed by Payne's longtime editor Kevin Tent, "Crash Pad" co-stars Nina Dobrev (TV's The Vampire Diaries). The film will be released on Digital HD September 26th before hitting theaters on October 27th with a DVD release slated for December 5th.

synopsis:
A hopeless romantic, who thinks he's found true love with an older woman, learns that she's married and that the fling is merely an instrument of revenge against her neglectful husband. He threatens to blackmail her by telling her husband, but his plan backfires when the husband decides the best way to get back at his wife is to move in and adopt the romantic's slacker lifestyle.
