If balls-to-the-wall action is your thing, then the Korean revenge thriller "The Villainess" is a movie you may want to seek out.

Described as South Korea's answer to Luc Besson's "La Femme Nikita," the hyperkinetic action thriller, which sees Kim Ok-bin (star of Park Chan-wook's vampire film "Thirst") as a highly skilled female assassin who's been blackmailed into working as a sleeper agent, has just opened in New York and Los Angeles today, August 25th.

The Jung Byung-Gil-directed film will expand to other cities throughout September. But in case you still need convincing, a new action-packed trailer has been released online, and it will definitely get your heart racing.

synopsis:
Bloody revenge is at the heart of this stylish, kinetic action-thriller that gives a welcome shot of adrenaline to the classic femme fatale story. Honed from childhood into a merciless killing machine by a criminal organization, assassin Sook-hee is recruited as a sleeper agent with the promise of freedom after ten years of service - and she jumps at the chance for a normal life. But soon enough, secrets from her past destroy everything she’s worked for, and now nobody can stand in her way as she embarks on a roaring rampage of revenge.
