Check out the official trailer for Season 2 of the action fantasy series "The Shannara Chronicles," starring Austin Butler (The Carrie Diaries), Ivana Baquero (Pan's Labyrinth), and Manu Bennett (Arrow) as three unlikely heroes who find themselves in a race to save the world from evil.

Based on the best-selling fantasy novels by Terry Brooks, the series was developed by "Smallville" creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar and had originally aired on MTV. The show has since been moved to MTV's sister station, the SPIKE network.

Taking place a year after the events of the first season, Season 2 continues the heroic journey of Wil Ohmsford (Butler), a half-human/half-elf healer who is destined to bring order to a world overwhelmed by chaos and violence with the help of human thief Eretria (Baquero) and the last known Druid, Allanon (Bennett).

The cast also includes Aaron Jakubenko, Malese Jow (The Flash), Marcus Vanco, Vanessa Morgan (Finding Carter), and Gentry White (TURN: Washington's Spies).

"The Shannara Chronicles: Season 2" is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, October 11th on SPIKE.
