TNT's The Alienist — New Promo: 'The Game'

Check out a brand-new 30-second promo for TNT's new highly-anticipated period thriller "The Alienist," which stars Dakota Fanning, Luke Evans, and Daniel Bruhl as three amateur sleuths tracking down an elusive serial killer in 1896, New York City.

Cary Joji Fukunaga, the acclaimed director of "Beasts of No Nation" and HBO's "True Detective: Season 1," is executive producing the ten-episode series, which is based on Caleb Carr's 1994 crime novel of the same name.

Belgian-born TV director Jakob Verbruggen, whose credits include directing episodes of "London Spy," "House of Cards," and "Black Mirror," helms the hour-long pilot, which co-stars Brian Geraghty and Ted Levine.

"The Alienist" doesn't have an official air date, but is expected to be released in 2018 on TNT.

synopsis:
The Alienist is an upcoming American drama television series based on the novel of same name by Caleb Carr. The psychological thriller drama is set in 1896, when a series of gruesome murders of boy prostitutes has gripped the city. Newly appointed top cop Teddy Roosevelt calls upon Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, a criminal psychologist -- aka alienist -- and newspaper illustrator John Moore to conduct the investigation in secret. Joining them in the probe is Sara Howard, a headstrong secretary at Police Headquarters.
