The American dream of suburban bliss quickly transforms into a chaotic nightmare in the new international trailer for George Clooney's darkly comic crime noir "Suburbicon," starring Matt Damon, Julianne Moore, and Oscar Isaac.

Clooney directs his sixth feature film (though it's his first directed movie where he doesn't also appear in the cast), in which Damon plays a 1950s suburban family man who, after suffering a string of tragedies and weird misfortunes, finds himself at the center of a police investigation while also being targeted by a mob-connected loan shark and an unrelenting insurance claims investigator with a "nose for hanky panky."

Based on an original screenplay by Joel and Ethan Coen (though Clooney and his longtime writing and producing partner Grant Heslov wrote the rewrites), "Suburbicon" will premiere next month at both the Venice and Toronto International Film Festival, before opening in the U.S. on October 27th.

synopsis:
Suburbicon is a peaceful, idyllic suburban community with affordable homes and manicured lawns... the perfect place to raise a family, and in the summer of 1959, the Lodge family is doing just that. But the tranquil surface masks a disturbing reality, as husband and father Gardner Lodge (Matt Damon) must navigate the town's dark underbelly of betrayal, deceit, and violence. This is a tale of very flawed people making very bad choices. This is Suburbicon.
