Marvel's Inhumans — New Trailer: 'The Royal Family'

Meet the royal family in the new trailer for Marvel's "Inhumans."

ABC's new action series is based on the old Marvel comic book about a royal clan of superhumans who secretly reside on the far side of the Moon. The family is led by Black Bolt, a mostly mute king whose powers include the ability to discharge an extremely destructive hypersonic shockwave with his voice.

In the live-action series, it seems Black Bolt (played by "Hell On Wheels" star Anson Mount) discovers his "revolutionary" brother Maximus (played by former "Game of Thrones" actor Iwan Rheon) has started a political revolt, which forces royal family members to choose sides when Black Bolt is suddenly exiled to Earth -- well, specifically, he's exiled to Hawaii.

Besides Mount and Rheon, the cast includes Serinda Swan as Medusa, The Queen; Isabelle Cornish as Crystal, The Princess; Mike Moh as Triton, The Operative; Sonya Balmores as Auran, The Assassin; Ken Leung as Karnak, The Visionary and Eme Ikwuakor as Gorgon, The Guardian.

Executive produced by showrunner Scott Buck (Marvel's Iron Fist and Dexter), Marvel's "Inhumans" will premiere with a special two-hour movie exclusively released in IMAX theatres for a limited two-week run beginning on September 1st.

The series, which will include additional footage not seen in the initial IMAX release, will then begin airing on ABC on Friday, September 29th.

The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and singularly unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since that time, they have grown in prominence and become some of the most popular and iconic characters in the Marvel Universe. “Marvel’s The Inhumans” will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.
