A young American woman has a life-changing experience when traveling to Italy in the new trailer for the upcoming drama "In Search of Fellini," which co-stars Maria Bello and Mary Lynn Rajskub.

Ksenia Solo, a Canadian actress who has appeared on such TV shows as "Lost Girl," "Orphan Black," and currently co-stars on "Turn: Washington's Spies," leads the cast of this coming-of-age film, playing a 20-year-old small-town Ohio girl who, after traveling to Italy (the home country of her favorite film director: Federico Fellini), is swept up in a spellbinding romantic adventure. Ciao Bella!

The film is the long-gestating passion project for executive producer and screenwriter Nancy Cartwright, who is better known to animation fans as the veteran voice actress who plays Bart Simpson on the long-running cartoon series "The Simpsons." The movie is inspired by Cartwright's own "true adventure" in 1985 when she attempted to track down legendary Italian filmmaker Federico Fellini.

Cartwright wanted to ask Fellini for his permission to turn his classic film "La Strada" into a stage production. While on her journey through Italy, Cartwright kept a detailed diary. Later in the late 1990s, she used those notes to co-write (with Peter Kjenaas), produce, and star in an autobiographical one-woman play called "In Search of Fellini," on which the film is loosely based.

Directed by indie filmmaker Taron Lexton, "In Search of Fellini" is slated for a September 15 theatrical release.

A shy small-town Ohio girl who loves movies but dislikes reality, discovers the delightfully bizarre films of Federico Fellini, and sets off on a strange, beautiful journey across Italy to find him.
