What if "Stand by Me," "Stranger Things," and "Donnie Darko" somehow had a baby -- and that baby grew into an angst-ridden teenager raised on grunge music and '90s movies. Well, it might look something like this!

Check out the trailer for the upcoming 1990s-set mystery teen thriller "Super Dark Times," about a group of high school friends whose relationship is tested (and profoundly affected) by a sudden violent tragedy involving a samurai sword.

Marking the auspicious feature debut of director Kevin Phillips, the film features a cast of young talented actors that include Owen Campbell (FX's The Americans), Charlie Tahan (FOX's Wayward Pines), Sawyer Barth (TNT's Public Morals), Max Talisman (Orange Is the New Black) and Elizabeth Cappuccino (Marvel's Jessica Jones) with Amy Hargreaves (13 Reasons Why) co-starring as a supportive single-mother.

"Super Dark Times" earned solid reviews when it played at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. The movie is now slated to be released in select theaters on September 29th before arriving on VOD October 3rd.
