Netflix has released the official full-length trailer for "Mindhunter," the forthcoming thriller series from executive producer David Fincher (Gone Girl, Zodiac), who also directs the first two episodes.

Jonathan Groff (From TV's Glee and HBO's Looking) stars alongside Holt McCallany (Shot Caller, Fightclub) as two unconventional-thinking FBI profilers who agree that the only way to catch a serial killer is to think like a serial killer. Which means to interview as many serial killers as they can so to develop a new radical method in FBI profiling.

Set in 1979, the series is based on the best-selling book "Mind Hunter: Inside FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit" by Mark Olshaker and John E. Douglas. And like the book, the Netflix drama will take viewers behind the scenes of the FBI as it chronicles the early years of the department's Elite Serial Crime Unit.

Created by Joe Penhall (screenwriter of "The Road"), the series also stars Anna Torv (TV's Fringe) and Hannah Gross (Marjorie Prime).

"Mindhunter" is due to premiere on Friday, October 13th on Netflix.
