Syfy's Happy! — Teaser

added: Tue, Jul 25th '17

Later in the year, you can expect to see former "Law & Order" star Christopher Meloni back on television in a new Syfy series. And it looks like he's going to be playing another hard-boiled cop -- only this time, his partner is a bit more animated than usual.

Check out the first teaser for "Happy!," a gritty cop-turned-hitman cable drama that's based on Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson's best-selling graphic novel of the same name, starring Meloni as a washed-up, alcoholic detective-turned-contract killer who, after waking up from one of his drunken stupors and a botched assignment, begins to see a flying and talking bright-blue horse, who winds up becoming his new imaginary partner.

Comedian Patton Oswalt will voice the CG animated horse who goes by the name "Happy."

Brian Taylor, co-director of the "Crank" films, directs the pilot episode of the series, which also stars Lili Mirojnick (TNT's Public Morals).

"Happy!" will air later in the year on the Syfy network.

Happy! is based on New York Times best-selling author Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson's graphic novel of the same name. The series follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni, Law & Order: SVU) -- an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man -- who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named Happy (Patton Oswalt).
