Although known for having its fair share of weirdos and freaks, Los Angeles -- believe it or not -- gets a little stranger than usual in the new Netflix movie "Bright." That's because the city appears to have added orcs, elves, and fairies to the population in this wildly imaginative genre mashup from "Suicide Squad" director David Ayer.

In the newly-released official trailer, we see Will Smith playing a fairy-hating L.A. police officer and he isn't too keen on having a new partner who happens to be the first ever Orc cop (played under heavy prosthetic makeup by Joel Edgerton, from "Loving" and "Midnight Special").

Set in an alternate modern-day Los Angeles where mystical creatures have integrated with the general human population, the fantasy/cop thriller follows the two unlikely police partners (Smith and Edgerton) as they patrol the mean streets of an orc-infested neighborhood, where they stumble on a dangerous magic wand that has the power to destroy the city.

The movie, which was penned by Max Landis (Chronicle), also stars Noomi Rapace, Edgar Ramirez, and Lucy Fry as suspicious neighborhood elves, while Matt Gerald, Margaret Cho, and Ike Barinholtz round out the cast as human cops.

"Bright" is set to premiere on Netflix, beginning December 22nd.
