Just released online is an extended clip from Netflix's latest horror movie "Death Note," starring Nat Wolff (from "Paper Towns" and "The Fault in Our Stars") as a high school misfit who stumbles upon a supernatural notebook that gives him the power to kill anyone he wants -- only to later have that power corrupt his soul.

Based on the uber-popular Japanese manga, the clip features Light (Wolff) when he is first confronted by the wish-making demon Ryuk (voiced by Willem Dafoe) asking for a name to be added to the book and the way he would like its victim to meet his demise.

Directed by cult horror director Adam Wingard (You're Next, The Guest, Blair Witch) the film also stars Margaret Qualley (from HBO's "The Leftovers") as Wolff's accomplice and Lakeith Stanfield (from the breakout horror hit "Get Out") as Wolff's adversary.

"Death Note" will be able to start streaming on August 25th on Netflix.

synopsis:
What if you had the power to decide who lives and who dies? We suggest you obey the rules.

Based on the famous Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Death Note follows a high school student who comes across a supernatural notebook, realizing it holds within it a great power; if the owner inscribes someone's name into it while picturing their face, he or she will die.
