Feast your eyes on the very first trailer for Guillermo del Toro's latest film "The Shape of Water," which could be described as "Creature from the Black Lagoon" meets "Amelia."

Oscar-nominated actress Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine) stars in the 1963-set movie as a lonely, mute janitor who works at a top-secret government facility. While cleaning a highly secured laboratory, she develops a unique relationship with one of the imprisoned subjects -- a strange, mysterious aquatic being (played by Doug Jones).

In addition to Hawkins and Jones, the cast boasts a stellar lineup of talent, including Oscar-winner Octavia Spencer, two-time Oscar-nominee Michael Shannon, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Oscar-nominee/Emmy-winner Richard Jenkins.

Written by del Toro and Vanessa Taylor (Divergent, Game of Thrones), "The Shape of Water" is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 8th.

synopsis:
From master story teller, Guillermo del Toro, comes THE SHAPE OF WATER -- an other-worldly fairy tale, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963. In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of silence and isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a secret classified experiment.
