James Franco recreates one of the best-quoted scenes from one of the worst films of all time in the newly released teaser trailer for his much buzzed-about comedy "The Disaster Artist."

Franco not only stars, produces, and directs the making-of-the-movie comedy, but he seems to have also transformed himself completely to portray eccentric filmmaker/actor Tommy Wiseau, who arguably made the greatest bad movie since the era of Ed Wood.

Although Wiseau's 6 million dollar-budget disaster "The Room" eventually became a cult classic thanks to midnight movie showings and throngs of quote-loving, football-throwing fans, Franco's movie is less about the fandom and more about the 2003 production of the film.

Based on the nonfiction book by writer Tom Bissell and "The Room" co-star Greg Sestero (portrayed here by Dave Franco), "The Disaster Artist" chronicles the making of the cult film phenomenon.

In addition to James and Dave Franco, the cast is packed with Franco's friends that include Seth Rogen, Paul Scheer, Charlyne Yi, Kelly Oxford, Alison Brie, Josh Hutcherson, Zoey Deutch, Zac Efron, Bryan Cranston, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Ari Graynor, Sharon Stone, Megan Mullally, Zach Braff, Judd Apatow, and Jacki Weaver -- just to name a few.

Made a huge splash when an early cut screened at this year's SXSW, "The Disaster Artist" is now set to open in select theaters on December 1st with more cities to follow.

synopsis:
With The Disaster Artist, James Franco transforms the tragicomic true-story of aspiring filmmaker and infamous Hollywood outsider Tommy Wiseau -- an artist whose passion was as sincere as his methods were questionable -- into a celebration of friendship, artistic expression, and dreams pursued against insurmountable odds. Based on Greg Sestero's best-selling tell-all about the making of Tommy's cult-classic disasterpiece The Room ("The Greatest Bad Movie Ever Made"), The Disaster Artist is a hilarious and welcome reminder that there is more than one way to become a legend -- and no limit to what you can achieve when you have absolutely no idea what you're doing.
