Check out the red band trailer for "Leatherface," the upcoming prequel to the Tobe Hooper-directed 1974 horror classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre," in which the iconic human-skin-wearing cannibal will have his origin story told, revealing his demented upbringing as a young troubled farm boy who grows up to be a homicidal teen.
Lili Taylor co-stars as Leatherface's mother, while Stephen Dorff plays a local sheriff with an evil streak. The rest of the cast includes Jessica Madsen, Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, James Bloo, and Vanessa Grasse.
"Leatherface" is directed by French horror directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, the duo behind the cult French thrillers "Inside (A l'interieur)" and "Among the Living (Aux yeux des vivants)."
The horror movie will be released exclusively on DirecTV on September 21st before hitting select theaters and VOD on October 20th.
synopsis:
In Leatherface, Jessica Madsen plays one of four inmates (Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, James Bloor) who escapes from a mental hospital. One of them becomes the title character and iconic slasher. The quartet kidnaps a young nurse (played by Vanessa Grasse) and takes her on a road trip from hell. Along the way, they are pursued by an equally deranged lawman (Stephen Dorff) out for revenge. The Conjuringâs Lili Taylor is Verna Sawyer.
