"Baywatch" star Alexandra Daddario and model Kate Upton jeopardize their friendship as they vie for the same man's attention in the newly-released trailer for the vacation-gone-wrong comedy "The Layover."

Directed by actor William H. Macy, following his 2014 feature directorial debut "Rudderless," the screwball comedy centers on two best friends and roommates, Kate and Meg (played by Daddario and Upton). When fired from their jobs at the same time, Kate and Meg decide to take a trip together to let off some steam.

While on their flight to Florida, Kate and Meg are seated next to a handsome blonde-haired passenger (played by Matt Barr, from the TV series "Sleepy Hollow"). But when the flight is suddenly grounded in St. Louis due to weather concerns, Kate and Meg gradually find themselves fighting each other over their new male friend. Things only get more heated when all three of them agree to share a car ride to Florida.

Written by "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" comedy writers David Hornsby and Lance Krall, the movie co-stars Matt Jones, Rob Corddry, Kal Penn, and Molly Shannon.

"The Layover" will be released exclusively on DirecTV on August 3rd before arriving in theaters on September 1st.

When their plane is rerouted due to a hurricane warning, two single female best friends (Alexandra Daddario, Kate Upton) find themselves competing for the same guy (Matt Barr) during an extended layover in St. Louis.
