A newly released international trailer offers another exciting peek at the upcoming action spy thriller "American Assassin," starring "Maze Runner" and "Teen Wolf" actor Dylan O'Brien as a young CIA recruit named Mitch Rapp, who goes through a top-secret and rigorous training program instructed by a hard-to-please CIA vet (played by "Spider-Man Homecoming" villain Michael Keaton).
The film, directed by Emmy-winner Michael Cuesta, of "Homeland" fame, is based on the 2010 best-selling spy novel by late author Vince Flynn. The book is one of several in a series that feature the Mitch Rapp character.
"American Assassin" is an origin story, following a young Mitch Rapp as he goes from being a grieving terrorist attack survivor to a self-taught, revenge-seeking vigilante, ultimately winding up with being recruited by the CIA and working his first mission: to catch and assassinate a rogue operative (played by True Detective's Taylor Kitsch) who appears to have obtained 15 kilos of weapons-grade plutonium.
Sanaa Lathan (from TV's "Shots Fired") co-stars in the film, which is due to hit theaters on September 14th.

AMERICAN ASSASSIN follows the rise of Mitch Rapp (Dylan O'Brien), a CIA black ops recruit under the instruction of Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Michael Keaton). The pair is then enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy (Sanaa Lathan) to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Together the three discover a pattern in the violence leading them to a joint mission with a lethal Turkish agent (Shiva Negar) to stop a mysterious operative (Taylor Kitsch) intent on starting a World War in the Middle East.
