Amazon has released the official trailer for the upcoming superhero comedy series "The Tick," based on the spoof comic book property by cartoonist Ben Edlund, which has been adapted into an animated series in the '90s and also a short-lived cult sitcom with Patrick Warburton in 2001.

In this new live-action version, English comedian Peter Serafinowicz (Guardians of the Galaxy, Spy) stars as the eponymous blue-suited crusader, while Griffin Newman (HBO's Vinyl) plays Arthur, the mild-mannered accountant who becomes Tick's reluctant, moth suit-wearing sidekick.

The cast of the Amazon series also includes Valorie Curry (FOX's The Following) as Dot Everest; Brendan Hines (CBS' Scorpion) as Superian; Yara Martinez (CW's Jane the Virgin) as Ms. Lint and Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) as The Terror with an appearance by Whoopi Goldberg as Whoopi Goldberg.

Oscar-winning cinematographer Wally Pfister (The Dark Knight) directed the half-hour pilot, which is currently available to stream on Amazon. However, the rest of the ten-episode series will be released on Friday, August 25th.
