Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey bring their epic fight to Earth in a new international trailer for the film adaptation of Stephen King's popular fantasy book series "The Dark Tower."

Playing a mystical gunslinging knight named Roland Deschain, Elba explains the significance of "The Tower" at the start of this new preview.

"The Tower is all that stands between light and darkness," Elba's Roland says. "For thousands of generations of gunslingers were knights sworn to protect it. And I'm the only one left."

Of course, McConaughey plays the evil deity, the mysterious "Man in Black," who wants nothing more than to turn the Tower into one giant pile of crumbled debris, which would plunge Earth into utter chaos.

So, I guess, it's a good thing that Roland doesn't "shoot with his hand" -- he "shoots with his mind." He also "doesn't kill with his gun" -- he "kills with his heart."

Directed and co-adapted for the screen by Danish filmmaker Nikolaj Arcel, "The Dark Tower" arrives in theaters on August 4th.
