Sometimes, in order to "think outside of the box," you must find yourself lost inside one.

Check out the official trailer for "Dave Made a Maze," a wildly imaginative indie comedy about a guy named Dave (played by comedian Nick Thune) who, after building a cardboard labyrinth in his apartment, finds himself lost inside a paper-made fantasy world.

Now Dave must rely on his girlfriend (Meera Rohit Kumbhani) and his oddball buddies (Adam Busch, Timothy Nordwind, Stephanie Allynne and James Urbaniak) to find a way out before a cardboard Minotaur kills them all.

Written and directed by first-time filmmaker Bill Watterson (not to be confused with the famed reclusive cartoonist of the same name) from a script he co-wrote with Steven Sears, "Dave Made a Maze" co-stars Kirsten Vangsness, Frank Caeti, Scott Krinsky, John Hennigan, and Rick Overton.

The film will be released in select theaters and VOD on August 18th.

An unaccomplished and frustrated artist builds a cardboard box fort in his living room and winds up trapped with a gang of oddball explorers in a fantasy world of his own creation, threatened by booby traps and a bloodthirsty Minotaur.
