An ass-kicking and throat-punching Charlize Theron gives James Bond a run for his money in the newly released final trailer for "Atomic Blonde."

In this action thriller, set in mid-1980s Germany, Theron plays a British Cold War spy who's been given a dangerous mission to do: she must travel to Berlin, meet up with her local contact (played by James McAvoy), and form some sort of plan to snuff out a rogue double agent.

She also needs to follow this simple advice: "trust no one." As there's a really good chance that almost everyone in town will want to see her dead -- or at least, severely hurt.

Professional stunt coordinator David Leitch, who trained Theron specifically for this film, makes his solo directing debut with "Atomic Blonde." Leitch is also credited as one of the two directors who helmed the original "John Wick" movie and is currently directing the upcoming "Deadpool" sequel.

Co-starring John Goodman, Sofia Boutella, Toby Jones, and Eddie Marsan, "Atomic Blonde" opens everywhere on July 28th.

synopsis:
Oscar-winner Charlize Theron explodes into summer in Atomic Blonde, a breakneck action-thriller that follows MI6's most lethal assassin through a ticking time bomb of a city simmering with revolution and double-crossing hives of traitors.

The crown jewel of Her Majesty's Secret Intelligence Service, Agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron) is equal parts spycraft, sensuality and savagery, willing to deploy any of her skills to stay alive on her impossible mission. Sent alone into Berlin to deliver a priceless dossier out of the destabilized city, she partners with embedded station chief David Percival (James McAvoy) to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.
