From cult horror director Adam Wingard (You're Next, The Guest, Blair Witch) comes a new supernatural thriller that's based on the uber-popular Japanese manga.

Check out the new full-length trailer for "Death Note," the Netflix horror movie starring Nat Wolff (from "Paper Towns" and "The Fault in Our Stars") as a high school misfit who stumbles upon a supernatural notebook that gives him the power to kill anyone he wants dead -- only to later have that power corrupt his soul.

The film also stars Margaret Qualley (from HBO's "The Leftovers") as Wolff's accomplice and Lakeith Stanfield (from the breakout horror hit "Get Out") as Wolff's adversary.

Willem Dafoe provides the voice of Ryuk, a spiky death God who emerges from the shadows every time a name is written in the book.

Masi Oka, the Japanese-American actor from the TV series "Heroes" and "Hawaii Five-0," is making his producer debut on the Netflix film, which is slated for an August 25th release.

synopsis:
What if you had the power to decide who lives and who dies? We suggest you obey the rules.

Based on the famous Japanese manga written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata, Death Note follows a high school student who comes across a supernatural notebook, realizing it holds within it a great power; if the owner inscribes someone's name into it while picturing their face, he or she will die. Intoxicated with his new godlike abilities, the young man begins to kill those he deems unworthy of life.
