Chinese action legend Jackie Chan is back! And he's more serious than ever as he seeks violent revenge in the debut trailer for "The Foreigner."

Co-starring Pierce Brosnan, the London-set film is the latest action thriller from renowned 73-year-old action director Martin Campbell, who is perhaps best known for directing the James Bond blockbusters "Casino Royale" and "GoldenEye."

Here, Chan plays a seemingly modest Chinese businessman living in London. When his teenage daughter is senselessly killed in an IRA-linked terrorist bombing, Chan, who was once a military operative, devotes himself to tracking down the killers.

Brosnan plays a British government official and a former IRA leader who may or may not know the identities of the rogue Irish terrorists. In either case, Brosnan refuses to help Chan in his pursuit of the terrorist bombers, which puts himself squarely in Chan's crosshairs.

Based on the 1992 novel "The Chinaman" by British thriller author Stephen Leather, "The Foreigner" is slated for an October 13th theatrical release.

synopsis:
The film tells the story of humble London businessman Quan (Chan), whose long-buried past erupts in a revenge-fueled vendetta when the only person left for him to love -- his teenage daughter -- is taken from him in a senseless act of politically-motivated terrorism.

In his relentless search for the identity of the terrorists, Quan is forced into a cat- and-mouse conflict with a British government official (Brosnan), whose own past may hold clues to the identities of the elusive killers.
