Life after college isn't all it's cracked up to be. That's why the Bellas are reuniting for another highly competitive singing competition -- and the stakes couldn't be any higher!

Check out the official first trailer for "Pitch Perfect 3," the highly-anticipated third chapter of the hit musical series about an all-female group of a-cappella singers who, over the course of two movies, have become the closest of friends. They're kind of like sorority sisters who look to each other for support both on and off the stage.

Featuring an ensemble cast led by Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Brittany Snow, Ester Dean, Hana Mae Lee, and Hailee Steinfeld with Ruby Rose and John Lithgow joining the fold, "Pitch Perfect 3" finds the Bellas going on an overseas USO tour, competing for the first time ever against bands with actual instruments.

Elizabeth Banks and John Michael Higgins have also returned to reprise their roles as those wacky a-cappella competition commentators. Despite helming "Pitch Perfect 2," Banks isn't directing this one -- though she is still serving as one of the franchise's main producers.

This time around, the directing reins have been handed over to music video director/choreographer Trish Sie, who previously helmed the 2014 dance sequel "Step Up All In," but is mostly known for directing the widely-viewed treadmill-choreographed music video for OK Go (which is fronted by her brother Damian Kulash).

"Pitch Perfect 3" is coming to theaters on December 22nd.

synopsis:
Now graduated from college and out in the real world where it takes more than a cappella to get by, the Bellas return in Pitch Perfect 3, the next chapter in the beloved series that has taken in more than $400 million at the global box office.

After the highs of winning the World Championships, the Bellas find themselves split apart and discovering there aren't job prospects for making music with your mouth. But when they get the chance to reunite for an overseas USO tour, this group of awesome nerds will come together to make some music, and some questionable decisions, one last time.
