The Martians are coming! The Martians are coming!

"Veep" star Tony Hale plays a New Jersey mayor who believes his town has just been invaded by space aliens in the trailer for the 1930s-set ensemble comedy "Brave New Jersey."

Inspired by the infamous 1938 radio hoax perpetrated on Halloween night by Orson Welles, in which he adapted H. G. Wells' classic sci-fi tale "The War of the Worlds" into a phony breaking news bulletin, creating a widespread panic, the movie follows the residents of a small New Jersey town as they prepare for the worst-case scenario: an alien invasion!

In addition to Hale, the cast also features Anna Camp (Pitch Perfect), Heather Burns (Manchester by the Sea), Mel Rodriguez (The Last Man on Earth), Raymond J. Barry (Justified), Dan Bakkedahl (Veep), Erika Alexander (Bosch) and Sam Jaeger (Parenthood).

"Brave New Jersey" is directed by Jody Lambert (co-writer of "People Like Us") and written by Lambert and Michael Dowling. The film is being released in theaters and on VOD August 4th.

A small town on the night of Orson Welles’s legendary 1938 "War of the Worlds" radio hoax is fooled into believing aliens are invading America. As they face what they think is their last night alive, hilarious and life-changing events unfold.
