What if your next birthday happens to land on the day you are murdered by a psychotic killer wearing a creepy baby mask? Yes, it would be a major bummer. But what if you were forced to relive that terrible day, trapped in some kind of continuous time loop? Well, guess, there's only one thing you can do -- treat every "death day" like it's your last!

Check out the trailer for "Happy Death Day," a new Blumhouse-produced horror movie that appears to be a cross between "Groundhog Day" and "Scream."

Actress Jessica Rothe, from "La La Land" and the upcoming country music romance "Forever My Girl," stars in the upcoming slasher thriller as a college student who is inexplicably forced to suffer through her death, repeatedly, until she can find out the true identity of her mysterious murderer.

Filmmaker Christopher Landon (Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones) directs from a script he co-wrote with comic book writer Scott Lobdell. The film also stars Israel Broussard (The Bling Ring), Ruby Modine (Shameless), and Charles Aitken (The Knick).

"Happy Death Day" arrives in theaters on October, Friday the 13th.
