Get a better look at Steve Zahn's incredible motion-capture performance in a new sneak-peek clip from "War for the Planet of the Apes," featuring an extended scene with Zahn's "Bad Ape" character.

When talking-ape leader Caesar (played by Andy Serkis) and his simian soldiers stumble across an abandoned building, they discover a scraggly ape survivor (Zahn). Caesar is amazed to see that the ape, a former zoo animal, has taught himself to speak like a human. Caesar is then told about a potential danger.

"Bad place. Human zoo. Bad human." It's a reference to Woody Harrelson's character, "The Colonel," who's been building a powerful army of ape-hating soldiers, and they are about to strike at any moment.

"War for the Planet of the Apes," directed by Matt Reeves, opens nationwide on July 14th.

In War for the Planet of the Apes, the third chapter of the critically acclaimed blockbuster franchise, Caesar and his apes are forced into a deadly conflict with an army of humans led by a ruthless Colonel. After the apes suffer unimaginable losses, Caesar wrestles with his darker instincts and begins his own mythic quest to avenge his kind. As the journey finally brings them face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are pitted against each other in an epic battle that will determine the fate of both their species and the future of the planet.
