"Game of Thrones" star Nicolaj Coster-Waldau trades in his sword and armor for tattoos and blues as he morphs into a hard-core prison gangster in the newly released trailer for the jailhouse thriller "Shot Caller."

Directed by stuntman-turned-filmmaker Ric Roman Waugh (Snitch, Felon), the film focuses on an ordinary family man (played by Coster-Waldau) who, after a tragic car accident, is sent to prison for manslaughter. While serving his sentence, he quickly adheres to the unwritten rules of prison culture, even going so far as to join the ranks of a prison gang. And after years of living in the slammer with some of the most violent individuals in society, this once honorable father of two has fully transformed into a stone-cold killer who is now calling the shots.

In addition to Coster-Waldau, the cast also includes Jeffrey Donovan (TV's Burn Notice), Jon Bernthal (TV's The Walking Dead), and Holt McCallany (Jack Reacher: Never Go Back) as prison inmates, with Lake Bell playing Coster-Waldau's long-suffering wife. While Benjamin Bratt (Doctor Strange) and Omari Hardwick (TV's Power) appear in the movie as undercover detectives.

"Shot Caller" is set to premiere this weekend at the Los Angeles Film Festival, with a theatrical and VOD release to follow in the summer.
