Tour de Pharmacy — Full-Length Trailer

added: Thu, Jun 8th '17

WWE superstar John Cena trades in his sweatbands for biking shorts as he portrays a steroid-addled cyclist in the new full-length trailer for the HBO sports spoof "Tour de Pharmacy," which comes from the same team that created the tennis mockumentary "7 Days in Hell."

Comedian Andy Samberg is again leading an all-star cast that includes the likes of Cena, Orlando Bloom, Daveed Diggs, Maya Rudolph, Dolph Lundgren, James Marsden, Freddie Highmore, Danny Glover, Jeff Goldblum, Julia Ormond, and much more.

From director Jake Szymanski (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates) and comic writer Murray Miller (Girls, King of the Hill), "Tour de Pharmacy" satirizes the professional world of cycling, during the illegal doping era of the 1980s and '90s.

The HBO film is set to air on Saturday, July 8th.

In 1982, during a dark and fictitious time in cycling history, the sport's most venerable, time-honored race was marred by the doping of virtually all of its competitors. Riddled with nefarious characters, that year's competition was a hornet's nest of moral depravity. Through the perspective of five riders, Tour de Pharmacy gives an inside look into the grim realities of the darkest event in a sport notoriously tainted by controversy.
