A young human girl named Nova (played by Amiah Miller, from "Lights Out") appears to be at the center of the upcoming movie "War for the Planet of the Apes," and a newly released preview offers a rich introduction to viewers.

The footage in the clip features talking-ape leader Caesar (voiced and motion-captured by Andy Serkis) who shows his displeasure and anxiety of seeing a mute orphan girl has been placed under their protection, specifically under the care of a sign-language-speaking Bornean orangutan named Maurice (played by motion-capture performer Karin Konoval).

Directed by Matt Reeves, "War for the Planet of the Apes" also stars Woody Harrelson as the Colonel, the ape-hating leader of the human resistance who wages a defiant battle against Caesar and his ape soldiers.

The film hits theaters July 14th.
