"There's something in the mist." And it's coming. It's coming!

A new official trailer has been released for "The Mist," Spike TV's new supernatural mystery series based on Stephen King's horror story about a small town that is suddenly encased by a blanket of dense fog, which ends up unleashing human-killing beasts upon the locals.

Alyssa Sutherland, from "Vikings," Morgan Spector, from "Boardwalk Empire," and newcomer Gus Birney play the family at the center of this "reimagination" of King's novella, which was also the source material for Frank Darabont's cult 2007 film adaptation.

Developed into a series by Danish TV writer-producer Christian Torpe (Rita), the cast also includes Frances Conroy (American Horror Story), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (Pete's Dragon), and Okezie Morro (Red Tails).

"The Mist" is slated for a Thursday, June 22nd premiere on Spike.

From a story by Stephen King, "The Mist" tells the story of a foreboding mist that arrives in one small town ushering in a terrifying new reality for its residents, putting their humanity to the test. What will people do to survive when blinded by fear?
