There's nothing stronger than the bond between a young girl and her pet -- especially if the pet is a genetically modified, gigantic super-pig.

Check out a newly released featurette for "Okja," the action-adventure movie about a brave Korean farm girl named "Mija" (played by An Seo Hyun), who goes on an epic quest to rescue her giant pet pig from an evil corporation in New York City.

The film is the brainchild of acclaimed South Korean filmmaker Bong Joon-ho, perhaps best known in the States for the Chris Evans-led dystopian action thriller "Snowpiercer" and the Korean monster movie "The Host" with Song Kang-ho.

Like "Snowpiercer," "Okja," which is being distributed by Netflix, features an impressive cast of recognizable faces from Hollywood, including Tilda Swinton, Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Steven Yeun, Giancarlo Esposito, and Lily Collins.

Despite some initial flak from film purists at this year's Cannes (because of its association with the online streaming company Netflix), "Okja" nevertheless ended up receiving a four-minute standing ovation and praise from critics at its world premiere.

The film will be released globally on Wednesday, June 28th only on Netflix.

synopsis:
From visionary Director Bong Joon Ho, this grand global adventure follows a friendship too big to ignore. Meet Mija, a young girl who risks everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend -- a massive animal named Okja. Following her across continents, the coming-of-age comedy drama sees Mija's horizons expand in a way one never would want for one’s children, coming up against the harsh realities of genetically modified food experimentation, globalization, eco-terrorism, and humanity’s obsession with image, brand and self-promotion.
