Samuel L. Jackson has easily killed over 250 people. And Ryan Reynolds may very well be his next kill -- that is, if Reynolds doesn't kill him first.

In the upcoming action comedy "The Hitman's Bodyguard," Jackson plays one of the world's most notorious contract killers. When he is arrested and forced to testify as a key witness in a criminal trial against a murderous Eastern European dictator (played by Gary Oldman), Jackson's character finds himself being marked for death. After a failed attempt on his life, he is left with no other choice but to go on the run.

In the meantime, Reynolds is a highly skilled and highly sought-after bodyguard. After being hired to transport and protect a valuable prisoner from England to the Netherlands, Reynolds is shocked to discover that his new unnamed client is none other than the hitman (Jackson) who had already tried to kill him "28 times" prior. Soon, the bickering duo hit the road (together in a "Midnight Run"-like fashion) as heavily armed assassins relentlessly pursue them across Europe.

Co-starring Salma Hayek as the wife of Jackson's character and Elodie Yung (aka Elektra from Netflix's "Daredevil") as an Interpol agent, "The Hitman's Bodyguard" is helmed by Patrick Hughes, the action director of "The Expendables 3" and the cult Australian thriller "Red Hill."

The film is coming to theaters on August 18th. Check out a newly released trailer, above.
