Oscar-winner Brie Larson reteams with "Short Term 12" filmmaker Destin Daniel Cretton for another emotional drama, which is based on Jeannette Walls' best-selling memoir "The Glass Castle."

The newly released trailer offers a peek at Larson as New York-based writer Jeannette Walls, a career-driven woman who was raised in an unconventional way and by two unconventional parents (portrayed in the film by Woody Harrelson and Naomi Watts).

The drama focuses on the strained relationship between Walls (Larson) and her father (Harrelson), who by all accounts is an alcoholic, yet charismatic nonconformist who thought his children would be best suited for life if they were raised to be more like him: a homeless squatter.

Co-starring Max Greenfield and Sarah Snook, "The Glass Castle" is hitting theaters August 11th.

synopsis:
A young girl is raised in a dysfunctional family constantly on the run from the FBI. Living in poverty, she comes of age guided by her drunkard, ingenious father who distracts her with magical stories to keep her mind off the family's dire state, and her selfish, nonconformist mother who has no intention of raising a family, along with her younger brother and sister, and her other older sister. Together, they fend for each other as they mature in an unorthodox journey that is their family life
