TNT is the cable network that claims to "know drama." But from the looks of their new series, they might know a thing or two about serial-killer thrillers.

Check out the newly released trailer for "The Alienist," TNT's new fall show starring Dakota Fanning, Beauty and the Beast's Luke Evans, and Captain America: Civil War's Daniel Bruhl.

Executive produced by filmmaker Cary Fukunaga (director of "True Detective: Season 1" and "Beasts of No Nation"), the series is the small screen adaptation of Caleb Carr's period thriller novel of the same name.

Set in 1896, New York City, the drama follows an unlikely trio of sleuths -- a criminal psychologist (Bruhl), a young police department secretary (Fanning), and a newspaper illustrator (Evans) -- as they secretly come together to track down an elusive serial killer who is responsible for murdering several boy prostitutes. While putting their heads together, they compile a psychological profile of possible suspects.

Co-starring Brian Geraghty, Ted Levine, Q'orianka Kilcher, Falk Hentschel and Douglas Smith, "The Alienist" doesn't have an official air date, as of yet. But it's expected to be "coming soon" to TNT.
