In what is being billed as the next "Lost," check out the debut trailer for ABC's new mystery thriller series "The Crossing," starring Steve Zahn (from HBO's Treme) as a small-town sheriff who finds himself involved in the investigation of a mind-boggling case: A large group of refugees has inexplicably washed up on the remote beach of a small fishing town. Each survivor is claiming to have fled from a devastating war. The thing is, the war hasn't happened yet. And it will not happen until 150 years from now.

Created by the producing and writing team of Jay Beattie and Dan Dworkin (Revenge, Matador, MTV's Scream), the forthcoming series also stars Natalie Martinez (FOX's APB), Sandrine Holt (Netflix's House of Cards), Rick Gomez (FX's Justified), Jay Karnes (FX's The Shield), and Marcuis Harris (HBO's Vice Principals).

Rob Bowman, the Emmy-nominated director of "The X Files" and its 1998 movie, helms the pilot episode.

"The Crossing" will be coming to ABC during its fall season of 2017/2018.
