Naomi Watts is the latest big-name star to venture into scripted fare.
In Netflix's new original series "Gypsy," the two-time Oscar-nominated actress plays Jean Holloway, a therapist who takes an "oath" to not "violate the physical boundaries" of her patients, but nevertheless becomes deeply obsessed with their personal lives, fantasizing them in a sexual matter. To the point where she may be causing more harm (to herself) than good.
Created and written by newcomer Lisa Rubin and directed and executive produced by "Fifty Shades of Grey" director Sam Taylor-Johnson, "Gypsy" also stars Billy Crudup (Alien: Covenant), Karl Glusman (Nocturnal Animals), Sophie Cookson (Kingsman: The Secret Service), Melanie Liburd (Syfy's Dark Matter), Lucy Boynton (Sing Street), and Brenda Vaccaro (You Don't Know Jack).
"Gypsy" is due to premiere on Friday, June 30th on Netflix. Watch the newly-released teaser trailer, above.
